In the first Cheltenham Guide of 1781 the town was described as "a journey of health and pleasure". It was thanks to the discovery of a natural spring that made Cheltenham a regency spa town.
TDA lives in Victoria House, one of the regency buildings, which dates back to 1834.
Today as well as visiting TDA, people visit Cheltenham for its festivals - literature, music, science, jazz and racing - its fine Georgian architecture, pretty parks and gardens, outstanding shopping, stylish restaurants and hotels.
Hotel du Vin – a sophisticated restaurant and bar which never fails to please.

The Daffodil – converted from a 1920 Art Deco picture house, the daffodil delivers excellent food in cinematic surroundings.

The Railway Inn – a lunchtime favourite here at TDA. Great ale, brilliant sausage 'n' mash and it's only over the road! Perfect.
The Everyman theatre – from operas to comedies, there's something for everyone. It's like a little piece of the west end just a little more to the west!

Holst birthplace museum – None of us can say we've been there - but we are proud to say that the man who wrote 'the planets' was born in our town!

Cheltenham is at the heart of the Cotswolds, with historic villages and rolling countryside right on our doorstep. Along with neighbours including Kate Winslet, Lily Allen and Damien Hirst.
These are some of the places members of our team love:
Picture perfect Cotswold village where a series of elegant low bridges span the river Windrush. Shops, pubs and cafes.
A centre of clothmaking until the 19th century, this picturesque valley was immortalised by the author of Cider with Rosie, Laurie Lee.
This elegant market town is built around a seventeenth-century Market Hall. Look out for Prince Charles' Highgrove store among the boutiques and antique shops.
